Pakistan's Yasir Shah said fluctuating his pace had been behind his marvelous come back to Test cricket at Lord's.

What made the 30-year-old Yasir's accomplishment all the more noteworthy was this was his first Test outside of Asia and the United Arab Emirates.

Yasir said: "I've played loads of cricket in the UAE where you need to bowl snappier. In England the pitches have some pace so you need to focus on differing your pace.

"My part was clear, to offer backing to the quick bowlers, however fortunately I got the wickets and I'm happy for the group."

With respect to Yasir getting his name on the distinctions board Mushtaq Ahmed — who took five for 57 in Pakistan's 164-run win over England at Lord's in 1996 — said: "It's an amazing privilege for Yasir to take five wickets here as well, at the home of cricket.

"When you turn up every one of the bowlers and batsmen go to see other Pakistani names on the distinctions board. When you see your name on there you feel so pleased.

"All the credit must go to Yasir however, the players need to convey and he did that splendidly."
